Leah Woehr, M.A.

Hello! My name is Leah Woehr and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Communication at UNC Chapel Hill. I am a scholar-artist specializing in performance and cultural studies. My dissertation work looks at Chinese adoptees of the American South and performances of belonging and disbelonging.

When I am not in school, I am a performer and singer/songwriter. My performance Grafting Rooting Growing has been performed across the U.S. and in Fara Sabina, Italy. I also write and perform music in North Carolina. You can find my two EPs "Carry Me" and "Maybe This Time" on all streaming platforms. My third EP, "Baby Blues" is scheduled to release Fall 2025.
